What is the Right Tadalafil Dosage?

Just as is true of other medications, Tadalafil needs to be taken in the right dosage for it to be effective without causing any adverse effects. This is the amount of the drug that will achieve optimal results without harming the body. Any amount below the recommended dosage will not achieve the desired effect, while if you take more than what is recommended, you may experience harmful effects. So, what is the right Tadalafil dosage?

Benign Prostatic HyperplasiaTadalafil is prescribed for the treatment of several conditions, and the dosage depends on the intended use. In order to treat erectile dysfunction, the recommended starting dosage is 2.5mg taken once daily at the same time of the day. The dose could be increased to 5mg daily depending on your tolerance. It can be taken at any time regardless of the time of day when you engage in sexual activities. When used occasionally as needed to boost sexual performance, the recommended dosage is 10mg taken at least 24 hours apart. It should be taken 30 minutes prior to sexual activity.

Tadalafil is also used to curb the symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The right dosage for this use is 5mg taken orally every day at the same time. When used together with Finasteride as the therapy of choice, the 5mg daily dose should be continued for 26 weeks. Optimum results will be felt within a month of use.

When used to treat pulmonary hypertension, the recommended adult dose is 40mg taken orally once a day. The dose should not be divided into smaller doses through out the day, as this reduces its effectiveness.

No matter what condition is treated with Tadalafil, the drug needs to be taken correctly and in the right doses. If you take an overdose, then you should consult with a qualified doctor. If you forget to take the drug at the right time, take it as soon as you remember. Be sure not to take more than the recommended daily dose, though.
